So with the birth of Caleb I have found an awakening,if you will, of me. I find I am not the woman I was before I had kids, but the woman I am still has a lot to do. I am slowly realizing that it is ok to go out and have fun the kids will be fine. I am not a bad mom for going out even with little babies at home. Trust me my boys mean the world to me, but one thing that I really took away from some baby books I read was to really teach her children what a good relationship looks like you must maintain one while having kids. That means spending time talking just you and your significant other in front of the kids while they play without you. Go on date night and leave the house when they are still awake. Don't put your kids before your marriage. Now that last one is where it gets tricky. I feel like it is sometimes natural for many women to feel like if their children aren't their priority then they are not being a good mother. And while your kids can be
everything to you they don't have to be the only thing about you. So I am writing this after an awesome night out with my husband and brother. We took in a great concert by one of my all time favorite bands: Reel Big Fish. It was great and I am so happy my mommy guilt is gone an I can truly enjoy myself. I hope you find your inner peace an learn to let go a bit. I will admit it's much easier to do when the event is out of the house. My poor new hobby of sewing has started to become a little dusty because finding time is while the bous are awake is too hard. But hats my next big rock. To learn it's okay to have me time at home. Wish me luck!!!!!
