Avocado success!!!

So we tried avocado today. At first c was not sure what to think. I just mashed it in a bowl because he does well with bananas that way so I figured why not. Well it pretty much plopped right back out of his mouth as soon as I spooned it in. Hmm what do I do now? Add some water change the consistency right? Well it changed the consistency and more stayed in his mouth and that's when he decided I do not like it!!! So after 20 minutes of this I let it go. I defrost a cube of apples and add it to the avo. Because I have found that if I want him to keep trying it adding some apples helps. So I saved the rest in the fridge and pulled it back out at dinner time. And to my surprise and joy he gobbled it all up and whined when there was no more! So even though I had to add apple, I still consider it a success! Yay for avocado!


Tomorrow I will attempt to plant a garden in my backyard. It is small and I don't have a good track record for keeping plants alive. I am excited though and think this could be really fun and fulfilling. I will be planting tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, crookneck squash, jalepenos and serrano chilis, and strawberries. I know it's a weird mix but I figure if it's stuff I can use I will take better care of it. Wish me luck! Or better yet wish the plants luck!
